perhaps you haven´t heared: they found a old Tower "Affenstein"
on the area of the I.G.Farben / Abrams building while digging
forthe "new university" - I am looking for pictures of that
little hill in the north/east corner (Lübecker Straße), a few
Chestnut trees stood on top of this hill.(At the plan AfStK it
is marked with "Affenstein Brunnen")
Before 1930 there was a psychiatric clinic on the area called
"Affenstein", Heinrich Hoffmann, Emil Sioli and Alois
Alzheimer, the finder of the Alzheimer’s disease, worked
there. But I think the tower is much older - in a painting
from 1552 the area was called "Affenstain".
Can you help me - I search for Pictures and further
information about this part of the I.G.Farben building - I
marked the position on the I.G.Farben plan.
And - in copy - I sent you the Email I wrote to the US Army
historican Andrew Morris in Heidelberg:
Thank you and sorry for my bad english !
Greetings from Frankfurt/Main

Hello Webmaster,
if the Email address (above) is
wrong - please send this Email to Dr. Andrew Morris - Thank
you !
Hallo Dr. Andrew Morris,
thank you for your information about the former I.G.
Farbenhaus /Abrams Building in Frankfurt.
Just a few months ago a historical tower was found on the area
of the former US-Headquarter in Frankfurt.
This is the Link to the article in "Frankfurter Rundschau" a
local newspaper:
Affenstein:
I wrote a letter to that article:
I was looking for a roman road here from Frankfurt-Heddernheim
(Nida/Civitas taunensium) to the roman bridge across the
river Main - this road went through the area of the former
US.Headqarter in Frankfurt and found a hill - I send you a
map with this road and also the former psychatric clinic ("Irren-Anstalt")
on the I.G. Farben-Area (1928) along with this Email.
Last not least - you can see me on a picture in the
newspaper and talking about the history of Frankfurt/Main:
If I have the time to visit you in Heidelberg - I will call
you on the telefone - Thank you very much for your help !
The US-Embassy gave me the adress of John Provan - an
historican here in Kelkheim near Frankfurt - perhaps he can
help me.
If you have more informations for me - just call me 069 -390
481 00 or write a Email.
Thank you and sorry for my bad english !
