Greetings from the desk of your FAHSAA President

FAHS President Grant

I am honored to serve as your new President. For those of you who missed our 2011 reunion in Colorado Springs we now have a completely new Board to serve our organization and our membership. I accepted the reigns of the Presidency from Steve Dean who will continue to serve as our Immediate Past President with many associated responsibilities . I am extremely fortunate to have three new dedicated Board members to assist me in conducting Board Business for the next two years. Becky Bowling Blessing 73; Vice President, Pat Collins Miller 70; Secretary, and Meredith Turner Kellogg 72; Treasurer.

One of my first actions as your new President was to recognize the importance of our spouses and encourage them to become more involved in our association activities especially our reunions. I was very happy to see so many spouses at our reunion this summer and I have proclaimed that they are all honorary Eagles and thus fellow brothers and sisters. After all, our connections from years past at FHS place us all in a rather unique family not shared by many of our neighbors and it is good to see so many spouses becoming part of our close knit Eagle family.

In an effort to boost membership in our association the Board has established a Committee to study the feasibility of incorporating the classes of 66, 72, and 73, into the ranks of our association. I think this is a very positive endeavor and it will certainly benefit us all if we decide to fully add these classes to our organization.

I am sorry that I missed seeing so many of you this summer in the Mile High Eagle’s Nest in the Rockies. I encourage all of you to join us next summer in San Diego where the Eagles plan to hit the warm beaches of Southern California. Check the Webpage and Facebook for details as this event approaches.

In closing I would like to tip my right wing to my eyebrow in a salute to our outgoing Board, Steve Dean, Erik Thamm, and Gayle Spear Cratty who all selflessly served you in a superb fashion. Finally, Many thanks to our dedicated volunteers who keep our organization strong and alive.

Eagles Uber Alles,
