Karl Titus
Carrie Titus, daughter of Karl Titus, class of 1969 has sent word that her father passed away on the 14th of June 2008 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika Alabama. Please keep his wife Alice, his daugher Carrie and the entire extended Titus family in your thoughts and prayers.

He has had a recurrence of the brain tumor which has plagued him for some time. He has undergone many treatments including a trial in LA. It's a boy!

Dr. Shirley Crowley, wife of Gene Crowley, class of 1967, passed away March 4, 2008. Shirley was a lovely, gracious and accomplished woman. She had a captivating spirit and a beautiful smile. She will be missed by all who knew her. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or a Hospice of your choice.

Sadly we must report that Bill Cox, class of 1970, passed away on the 17th. Please keep Connie and

Gene Crowley, Class of 1967, has informed us that his wife, Shirley, was admitted to the hospital with an early indication of spots on the right side of her brain, possibly cancer. Gene says, "She is very focused and keeping herself in a good mood, not letting this setback anything.". Please keep Shirley and Gene in your prayers.

Erika is recovering!

Prayers have been requested for Erika, the daughter of our own Colleen Bullen '69. Erika was rescued from her burning home on Tuesday morning (September 11th).
She is currently in the Oregon Burn Center at Legacy Emmanuel Hospital where she is listed in critical, but stable condition with burns on about 7% of her body. Colleen and Rick '70 are both in Portland and have access to e-mail. Keep your thoughts, prayers and love focused on Erika and the entire family!

Greg Brown, class of 69 informed us this week of the passing of his father, James W. Brown, Jr. "Now he's flying higher than the 70,000 ft heights he flew along the Iron Curtain when we were all at FAHS." said Greg. We send our thoughts and prayers to Greg and all his father's family and friends.

Final arrangements:
Bob's cremated remains will be interred at the Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium on Monday January 22nd at 2pm. A graveside ceremony will be presided over by his minister. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at 1:30 at the reception center at ANC to go together to the ceremony. After the funeral, family and friends are invited to a reception at the home of Mike Major in Occoquan, VA approximately 20 minutes away via interstate (carpooling is recommended).

It is with much sadness that we report the July passing of Joan Costello, "Miss Costello" to her many students! For many years she was a much loved and respected teacher of Latin, Civics and Contemporary Problems. There was none better!

Nancy Long, sister-in-law of our Gayle (Spears) Cratty, class of 1969, died suddenly from complications of surgery. Nancy has attended a number of FAHS functions and was much loved by those who knew her. Please remember Gayle and her family in your prayers at this time of their great loss.

Claire "Cookie" Taylor, the mother of Bob Taylor, class of 1968, passed away recently. She was employed at the CIA, starting as a part time clerk and retiring as a senior analyst. We send our condolences to her sons, Skip, Terry, Bob and her entire family.

Joseph E. Collins, USA(Ret.) passed away August 12, 2006 in Norman, Oklahoma. He is the father of Pat (Collins) Miller, class of 1970. We send our prayers and condolences to family and friends.

Bill "Kim" Simkins
Class of 1970, passed away after a drunk driver ran a light and struck his car. Our condolences to Margie, his partner of over 20 years, his sister Pam Turner, class of 1968, and the entire Simpkins family.

The Rev. Samuel M. Robinson, Lt. Col. USAF(Ret.) passed away in his sleep on Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at his home in West Lafayette, Indiana. He was 80 years old. Rev. Robinson is the father of our own Daniel M. Robinson, class of 1969. His body will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at some future date. Our prayers go out to the entire Robinson family.

Cher (Howard) Christianson's father, Col. Joseph Howard, USA (Ret.), passed away on May 21, 2006, in Dallas, Texas. He takes his place on the Roll of Honor at Arlington National Cemetery. Cher is a member of the class of 1969. We send our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Please keep Pat Collins Miller, Class of 1970, in your thoughts and prayers, along with her husband, Vietnam veteran Danny Miller. Danny is scheduled to have a below the knee amputation of his right leg on Tuesday, May 16th. We wish them both the best in this traumatic time. Update on Ray Reese ' 67
Ray is doing really well, but will be a long time coming back. He's still
required to stay close to the Brown Cancer Center and sees his doctors every week. He's
isolated in the sense his immune system is not strong enough to be out in
the public yet. But he's HAPPY TO BE HOME AGAIN!!!
At this point they expect only good things and that he'll grow
stronger everyday. He'd love to hear from everyone! Ray thanks everyone for all their cards and prayers through this fight against leukemia.
RAY IS CANCER FREE TODAY!!!

Gayle Rautio '67
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dana '67 and
the Rautio family.
Gayle, who suffered with Multiple Sclerosis for many years,
passed away May 21, 2005.
Gayle's favorite reminiscences were of her teenage years when
she lived and attended school in Giessen and Frankfurt, Germany.
She always missed the friends she made there and thought of them to
the very end. She always said, "These were the best days of my life!"
Gayle will be laid to rest in Fitchburg Massachusetts, the city where she
was born, the home of her parents and grandparents.

Raymond Reese '67
Ray will be entering the Braun Cancer Center in
Louisville, KY. on Dec 1 to have a
bone marrow transplant on Dec 9th.
In a fight for his life with leukemia, Ray will undergo
his 2nd round of Chemo starting Dec 1 for 6 days before the transplant.
Please keep Ray and the Reese family in your prayers.
